News & Events ‘PUD’ FINDS PERMANENT HOME IN NOTTINGHAM CITY CENTRE
DESIGNER childrenswear shop Pud has found a permanent home inside Nottingham’s Flying Horse Walk just four months after opening a pop-up store in the city.
Previously located on Bridlesmith Gate, the pop-up shop that offers ‘little prices for little puddins’ has taken the plunge and chosen to move into Nottingham’s iconic shopping arcade permanently.
As well as stocking a range of children’s wear, Pud’s new home will have nappy changing rooms, a feeding room and a colouring table with books to keep younger customers occupied while parents browse the stores premium childrenswear.
Set up and run by entrepreneurs Rachel Mawby and Frances Bishop, the duo can’t believe the success of the Nottingham pop-up. Rachel said: “We’ve seen more people than we could have hoped for come through our doors.
“We initially opened as a Christmas pop-up at the start of December 2014 and here we are just four months later moving into permanent premises.”
Ben Tebbutt, director at property consultants FHP said: “we have worked with Pud, first with their temporary store on Bridlesmith Gate and now with their permanent home in Flying Horse Walk.
“They are an excellent addition and an exciting young retailer who have plans to grow. We are already getting close to agreeing terms for their next store in Newark.”
The designer outlet began trading online only last year and has since grown to include standalone stores in Radcliffe, Doncaster and now Nottingham with plans to expand further.
Rachel added: “We are lucky enough to already have some really loyal customers who visit us regularly and love the brands such as Mini Vanilla, Olive & Moss and Pitter Patter whose snuggle bags have been flying out the door.
“We like to accommodate our customers as much as we can and hope our in-house changing room facilities will help our shoppers and add to their shopping experience with us.”
Young customer Kyira Campbell, aged seven from the Meadows loved the new look store and said: “The clothes here are genius and super modern.”
Simon Blair from London and County which owns the Flying Horse Walk said: “It’s wonderful to see upcoming business’s taking root – Pud is a real success story and it is great to have them open in the walk.
“We have a good blend of independent and nationally established shops within Flying Horse Walk and I’m sure Pud will fit right in alongside them.”
The new shop can be found just inside the Flying Horse Walk’s South Parade entrance just off Nottingham’s Old Market Square.
